Brown has been steadfast in pursuing investments and aligning resources to build strength in the foundational areas of the strategic plan. These include elevating our academics through investments in Brown’s people and programs; developing the physical campus to provide the infrastructure to advance world-class education, research and the community; and supporting the students, faculty and staff who live and work at Brown and are at the core of what we do every day.
Strategic Plan
In the first five years:
$ 528 million
invested in capital projects
>75
new endowed chairs established
$ 927 million
in scholarship aid awards
The University has realized significant and measurable progress toward its original goals and aspirations, guided by the Operational Plan for Building Brown’s Excellence (2015), which translated the strategic plan’s vision into a set of concrete actions, as well as Pathways to Diversity and Inclusion: An Action Plan for Brown University (2016), which established concrete actions to fulfill the strategic plan's priorities for building a fully diverse and inclusive community. Given this progress, the University refined the priorities in with a revised operational plan in 2018 to reflect progress made toward the original goals and adjust them based on new strategic priorities.
